BC Ferries cancels some Horseshoe Bay
A mechanical issue on the Queen of Surrey has forced some New Years Day BC Ferries sailings to be cancelled.
BC Ferries explains that a problem with the vessel’s propulsion system has forced the ferry to stay at the dock on Wednesday morning.
The cancelled sailings include:
- 8:40 a.m. departing Langdale
- 9:45 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
- 10:50 a.m. departing Langdale
- 11:55 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
Two more sailings are at risk of being cancelled, the ferry service explains. These are the:
- 1:05 p.m. departing Langdale
- 2:10 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
BC Ferries says that travellers who have reservations for these bookings will be contacted directly by its Customer Service Centre.
“A service technician has been sourced and is on route to assess the issue. An update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available,” BC Ferries said.
“We are currently sourcing a complimentary passenger water taxi should the regular scheduled service be cancelled. An update will be provided to this Service Notice once these details are confirmed,” it continued.
“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations.”
