Meet Emerson, B.C.’s first baby of 2025

As British Columbians were celebrating the New Year, one family in Kamloops was welcoming a new member.

The newest B.C.’er came into the world just two minutes past the turn of the year.

Interior Health explains Emerson, B.C.’s first baby of 2025, was born at 12:02 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The seven-pound 10-ounce bundle was welcomed at Royal Inland Hospital by his parents Jordan and Elijah.
