One dead in two-vehicle crash near Markham

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

York Regional Police (YRP) said the collision happened overnight in the Ninth Line and Hoover Park Drive area.

A police spokesperson tells 680News Radio that a car and motorcycle were involved.

One person was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. An age and gender were not immediately provided.

Roads in the area have been closed for several hours and will remain shut down until further notice.
