The Victoria Police Department is seeking witnesses after several parked cars were damaged on Tuesday.

An impaired driver was reportedly seen driving erratically in the Fernwood and Rockland areas. Officers were called to the intersection of Heywood and Oliphant Avenues around noon, where they found seven damaged parked vehicles.

“Investigators report that a female driver in a stolen white Honda Civic was observed in the vicinity, swerving on the roads and colliding with parked vehicles,” the VicPD said.

“Responding officers located the stolen vehicle which had crashed into another parked vehicle near Pemberton Road and Fort Street.”

Police say the woman left the scene, but officers found her nearby around 12:30 p.m. She was then taken into custody.

The suspect, Judyann Marie Desjarlais, appeared in court on Christmas day, facing seven charges including theft of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited, and driving while impaired.

Investigators believe there may be more damaged vehicles. They are asking any witnesses or victims to come forward.

The suspect’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2025.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the E-Comm Report Desk at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, and quote file number 24-47569.
