Woman accused of stabbing someone multiple times in Parkdale

Toronto police are searching for a 43-year-old woman who is accused of breaking into an apartment in Parkdale and stabbing someone multiple times.

Officers were called to an apartment building in the Queen Street West and Beaty Avenue area just after 3:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to police, the woman was armed with a weapon and broke into a residential apartment unit. Once inside, the suspect allegedly stabbed someone in the apartment multiple times.

The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police have identified the suspect as 43-year-old Meagan Coote. She faces four charges, including breaking and entering, two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and disobeying a court order.

Coote is described as being five-foot-six with a medium build. She has dirty blonde hair and light-coloured eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan-coloured jack and a light brown knitted scarf.

No other details were released.
