2 arrested after attempting to flee from VPD in stolen car Saturday

The Vancouver Police Department says it has arrested two people after it received reports of a stolen vehicle Saturday evening.

While details are limited, Sgt. Steve Addison confirms they were arrested in the stolen car after trying to flee from police in the West End.

Several callers to 1130 NewsRadio said Denman Street was closed in both directions near Nelson at the time.

Some callers reported seeing a speeding car crashing into other vehicles, but this has not been confirmed and it isn’t clear whether or not it is related to the arrests.
