Two people died in an RV that caught fire Sunday night, Surrey police say.

The Surrey Police Service says Surrey Fire Services called for assistance on 102 Avenue near 122 Street in the city’s north end around 9 p.m.

“At that location, a recreational vehicle was engulfed in flames and a neighbouring residence required evacuation,” police described Monday.

Police say the occupants of the neighbouring house were unharmed, but two people were found dead inside the RV.

Images from the scene show a burnt RV in the driveway of a detached house.

Surrey Police Service media liaison Ian MacDonald tells 1130 NewsRadio that the investigation continues Monday morning. He confirmed that the victims were a “male and a female,” who were known to the residents of the house.

The SPS is asking anyone with more information about the fire to call 604-599-0502 and quote file 25-113610 (SP).

This is a developing story. More to come.
