Two men — who are both considered to be the suspects — were seriously assaulted near Vancouver’s Olympic Village Saturday evening, VPD Const. Tania Visintin tells 1130 NewsRadio.

Both were taken to hospital and remain in critical condition.

“Their identities are still unknown at this time, and the circumstances that led up to the assault are under investigation,” Visintin said.

It isn’t clear what time the incident took place, but video and photos taken at the scene shortly after 6 p.m. show police tape up around the area near BREWHALL pub and the Century Car Wash, on East 2nd Avenue between Ontario and Quebec streets. It isn’t confirmed whether or not this is related to the assault. Images show multiple VPD officers were on the scene.

We have reached out to police for more information.
