3 suspects sought after woman shot, dog killed in armed home invasion in Nobleton

Police in York Region are searching for at least three suspects wanted in connection with an armed home invasion in Nobleton that resulted in a woman being shot and a dog being killed.

Investigators say they were called to a home in the Highway 27 and King Vaughan Road area just before 4 a.m. on January 21 following reports someone had been shot.

When they arrived they found a 47-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Three others in the home at the time of the incident were unharmed.

The victim told police three armed suspects broke into the home and one of them shot her before attempting to set the house on fire. Police say the suspects also shot both of the woman’s dogs, killing one of them.

Police say the three suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle. They are described as young males all wearing dark clothing. At least two firearms were brandished during the incident.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact police.
