40-year-old Alberta man dead after crash in Delta, B.C.
Police in Delta say one person has died following a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.
The Delta Police Department (DPD) says officers responded just after 7 p.m. to an incident in which a white Dodge Ram truck crashed into the ‘impact attenuator’ on the Highway 17 offramp exit before rolling onto its roof.
The impact attenuator or ‘crash attenuator’ is a cushioning device — normally a low, metal or concrete railing, running between merging lanes.
Police say the driver and sole occupant, a 40-year-old Alberta man, died at the scene.
The DPD says exits on Highway 99 were closed for several hours while crews investigated the crash.
Anyone with information and dashcam footage of the collision is asked to contact investigators at (604) 946-4411 and quote file number 2025-1566.
