5 youths, including 3 girls, charged in armed Brampton carjacking
Five teenagers, including three girls, have been charged in an armed carjacking robbery in Brampton, Peel Regional Police said.
Authorities were called to a Brampton commercial plaza near Vodden Street East and Kennedy Road North shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 for reports of a robbery.
It’s alleged the victim was in his vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger when he was approached by two suspects, one of whom had a handgun. Police said the suspects forcibly removed the man from the vehicle and drove off.
The man was not physically injured.
Police later located the occupied stolen vehicle in Mississauga and arrested five youths. An imitation firearm was recovered.
Two males, aged 15 and 16, were arrested and charged with various offences, including robbery with a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime. The pair were held on bail.
Three girls, a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, were also arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. These youths were released on an undertaking.
The five accused were not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
