Homicide investigators have identified the 68-year-old man who died in a shooting in Abbotsford Monday.

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says the shooting took place on Ridgeview Drive near Summit Drive around 9:20 a.m.

Sgt. Paul Walker says first responders discovered the man suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, the man died from his injuries.

In an update Tuesday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) identified the victim as prominent local businessman Darshan Sahsi of Abbotsford.

“Early indications suggest this was a targeted incident and no one else was injured as a result of the shooting,” said IHIT.

Police also shared an image of a suspect vehicle believed to have been involved in the homicide.
