81-year-old woman killed in East Vancouver hit-and-run
Police are investigating after a driver struck and killed an 81-year-old pedestrian in East Vancouver Monday morning.
BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics were called to the scene of the collision near Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue around 6:30 a.m.
The Vancouver Police Department says the victim, a woman, died from her injuries before being transported to hospital.
“The driver did not stop and the car was last seen heading north on Rupert Street,” police added.
Investigators believe the driver was operating a dark grey Volkswagen Golf from the 1990s or 2000s. The VPD says the vehicle is likely missing its driver-side mirror and may have damage to the front bumper, fender and headlight on the same side.
Anyone with information about the driver or vehicle involved, or with video from the area, is asked to contact investigators at 604-717-3012 or [email protected].
