Vancouver Police Board vice-chair Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba has been asked to step down in light of a long series of Instagram stories in which she makes multiple derogatory comments against several groups, starting with complaints that her son’s school had celebrated Diwali.

Screenshots of her rant, posted to Reddit, show 10 pages of claims that Canada’s culture and values are being erased by minority groups. She makes a long list of claims about mass immigration, Christian values, gender transition, “woke” culture, and slavery.

Police board chair Frank Chong tells 1130 NewsRadio Sakoma-Fadugba’s comments are “inconsistent” with the board’s code of conduct.

“While I value the many contributions Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba has made as a member of this Board since 2022, these statements have made her continued service on the Board untenable,” Chong said.

“This afternoon, I requested and received Comfort’s resignation from the Vancouver Police Board.”

Sakoma-Fadugba’s Instagram account has been taken down.
