Toronto police are investigating an alleged homicide in the city’s Corso Italia neighbourhood.

Officers say they received a call just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning about a person who was injured near St. Clair Avenue West and Earlscourt Avenue.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located a man in his 20s and transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Few details have been released. However, police say they are treating the investigation as a homicide and that the incident happened outside and not in a residence.

Road closures are in effect on St. Clair Avenue West between Lansdowne Avenue and Earlscourt Avenue. Nairn Avenue is also closed between Ascot Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West. Motorists are told to expect delays in the area.

The TTC says there is no service on the 512 route along St. Clair Avenue between Gunns Loop and Oakwood Avenue East.
