A woman is in critical condition after being rescued from a 2-alarm house fire in Etobicoke on Sunday afternoon.

Toronto Fire Services were called to a home on Upper Humber Drive, near Finch Avenue West and Highway 427, just after 12:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews spotted visible flames and pulled a woman from the fire during a search of the home without any vital signs. Paramedics transported her to the hospital where she was revived but was listed in life-threatening condition.

Three police officers who entered the home to search for victims were also taken to a hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

Crews say the fire has been knocked down and an investigation is underway to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.
