Commercial truck strikes Burnaby overpass
A section of Highway 1 is partially closed to eastbound traffic in Burnaby after a commercial vehicle struck the Gilmore Diversion from below Wednesday.
The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) says it is on scene investigating the far-right merge lane where the collision happened around noon.
“There is no visible damage to the overpass, and traffic should not be delayed for an extended period,” said BCHP.
Police say Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement officers will determine next steps.
According to the B.C. government, there has been one other recorded overpass strike in the province this year.
Drivers can expect minor delays and are asked to follow police direction.
