A man was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after multiple home invasions and violence in South Surrey.

The Surrey Police Service says officers were called to the area of King George Boulevard and 160 Street around 1:30 a.m.

Reports said a male suspect had broken in to “several homes” and assaulted people. Police say a suspect was arrested on the scene.

Sgt. Tige Pollock tells 1130 NewsRadio that the suspect allegedly broke into two homes and one communal property. He says police did not have to chase the suspect prior to arrest.

Images submitted to The Leader Spirit appear to show a man with bound hands surrounded by police. A video submitted by residents in the area show a man entering through a gate at night.

“The matter is still under investigation, but at this time this appears to be a random incident, and the suspect is unknown to the victims,” the SPS said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

Paramedics reportedly treated two people on the scene for minor injuries.

Police say the suspect is still in custody.
