Vancouver downtown sinkhole to be repaired by end of week
A sinkhole at a downtown Vancouver intersection, causing lane closures and traffic delays, will be repaired by the end of this week, the city says.
Robson Street is temporarily closed to traffic and Thurlow Street is down to one lane Wednesday after city crews discovered a sink hole “along an old utility trench.”
“Emergency repairs are currently underway, and we anticipate repair work will be complete by end of the week,” said the city in a statement to 1130 News Radio.
The city assured that access for pedestrians has been retained and businesses are open.
“We thank everyone for their patience while we complete emergency repairs,” said the city.
