The Transportation Safety Board says it is sending a team of investigators following an accident involving a small plane in Lillooet, B.C.

The board says in a statement that the crash involved a privately registered Bushmaster Super 22 aircraft.

It says the accident happened on Wednesday but did not provide any additional details. However, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) tells 1130 NewsRadio it received a call shortly after 5 p.m. about an incident involving a plane around 800 Whitney Road.

“Three ground ambulances with primary care paramedics and an air ambulance helicopter responded,” BCEHS said.

“No patients were transported to hospital.”

It is unclear if anyone was injured or killed in the accident, and the RCMP did not immediately respond to requests for more information.

The board says its investigators will gather information and assess the occurrence of the accident.

Lillooet is located about 250 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.
