Ontario man convicted of manslaughter in fatal 2022 shooting in Surrey
An Ontario man has been convicted in a shooting in Surrey that killed a man and injured a woman more than three years ago.
On Feb. 8, 2022, the Surrey RCMP responded to a call about a shooting in the area of 168th Street and 104th Avenue.
When they arrived, police say, they found two people with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
It is believed that the attack had happened a few blocks away on 170A Street near 102nd Avenue, close to an elementary school.

Twenty-four-year-old Juvraj Jabal died of his injuries after being taken to hospital, while the 20-year-old woman survived.
Homicide investigators in B.C. say Yusuf Kontos was arrested in Richmond Hill, Ont., in January last year and was convicted of manslaughter in B.C. Supreme Court last month.
Police say Kontos was also convicted of aggravated assault for the attack on the surviving victim and has been sentenced to 12 years for manslaughter and eight for the assault conviction.
