The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has identified the victim in a fatal stabbing incident earlier in November, which happened along the Granville strip in the city’s downtown area.

However, the VPD says that the family of the victim requested his name remain private.

Investigators do reveal that the victim, who later died in the hospital, was in his 20s.

The stabbing occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on November 17 near Helmcken Street.

When officers arrived, they were not able to identify the victim as identification was not found on him.

Investigators say that they do not believe the attack was random.

The VPD adds that the search for the suspect is still ongoing.
