Fire at East Vancouver home displaces one
Authorities are investigating after a fire broke out at a detached residential house in East Vancouver.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services says it received a call shortly after 11:30 a.m. from a neighbour who reported fire and smoke coming from the home in the area of Rupert Street and East 43 Avenue.
The occupant and the neighbour of the home told firefighters they were notified of the fire from a working smoke alarm.

Firefighters say there is extensive heat and smoke damage and the house will be boarded up.
One person was displaced. No injuries were reported.
