Burnaby RCMP say criminal charges have now been laid against a group arrested in a major mail theft operation last year.

Investigators identified a group of suspects following two break-ins at an apartment building on Telford Avenue in October 2024.

After the execution of a search warrant at a Burnaby home in December 2024, four men were arrested. An additional two men were later arrested.

During the search, nearly 1,600 stolen items were recovered including 346 pieces of identification, 572 pieces of mail, 496 bank cards and 155 cheques. Officers also found an embossing machine and items used in the manufacturing of false identification.

On Nov. 26, 2025, B.C. Prosecution Service approved 25 charges against five men.

Those charges include break and enter, theft of mail, possession of property obtained by crime and forgery among others.

“These types of investigations can be extremely tedious and very detailed,” Sgt. Jamie Belleville with Burnaby RCMP’s Prolific Offender Suppression Team said in a press release. “I am very proud of our Prolific Offender Suppression Team for getting this investigation to this point.”

The suspects are now awaiting their day in court.
