Rain, wet snow showers expected in the Lower Mainland Christmas evening
Looks like it might be a white Christmas — sort of — for some in the Lower Mainland Thursday night.
Wet snow showers and rain are expected in the evening in some areas, continuing into Boxing Day morning before starting to taper off by Friday afternoon.
“That cold air, though, is still sticking around,” said 1130 NewsRadio meteorologist Carle Lam.
“It’s chilly as we go through Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday, before temperatures rebound a little bit as we go into the beginning of next week.”
Meanwhile, a snowfall warning remains in place for the Sea to Sky from Squamish to Whistler, with a total of 15 to 20 centimetres expected from Thursday evening into Friday afternoon.
“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions,” Environment Canada said in the warning.
“Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.”
