A Brampton man who is already in custody is facing additional charges in connection to several break-in thefts in Peel Region, including three at places of worship where police say money from donation boxes was stolen.

Investigators say the accused was responsible for five break-ins between March and August 2023.

“Three locations were at places of worship where the suspect was seen on surveillance footage breaking into temples and taking money from donation boxes,” a police release states.

“Two other incidents involved the same male breaking into other commercial locations and stealing money.”

Jagdish Pandher, 41, of Brampton is facing five counts of break and enter.

Police say Pandher is already in custody for similar, but separate offences,

“Although some of these offences occurred at places of worship, investigators are confident that these were crimes of opportunity to steal cash and not motivated by hate,” Peel police added in a release.
