Abbotsford pedestrian hit by car, airlifted to hospital

One pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Abbotsford on Tuesday night.

The Abbotsford Police Department says it was called to the incident at George Ferguson Way and Gladwin Road just after 6:45 p.m.

Police say the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. 

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.

Police have George Ferguson Way closed in both directions between Ware and Trafalgar streets while it and the Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) officers investigate.
