If you’re eager to lock down a place to start the summer camping season, this is your week to lock in.

BC Parks says reservations for camping sites during the 2025 May long weekend are set to open Thursday morning.

Provincial campsites that offer reservations can be booked four months ahead of arrival, and Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 a.m. marks four months before the Victoria Day weekend kicks off.

BC Parks says it has added 60 new reservable campsites to three parks this year, including at Fintry Park in Kelowna, Rolley Lake near Mission and at China Beach in Juan de Fuca Park on Vancouver Island.

Locally, the opening date for reservations in Golden Ears Park near Maple Ridge is delayed as several storm-damaged sections of the Golden Ears Parkway are still under repair.

All three Golden Ears campgrounds are expected to open this spring.

The province says of the 10,700 campsites BC Parks manages, approximately half are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A list of park opening dates and campgrounds that accept reservations is available on the BC Parks website.
