B.C. fugitive Alkhalil arrested in Qatar
A high-profile fugitive who escaped a B.C. prison three years ago was arrested overseas, police say.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU) says Rabih Alkhalil was arrested in Qatar this month.
The CFSEU says Mounties and Interpol partners are working to have Alkhalil returned to Canada, where he is wanted for escaping the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in 2022 while on trial for murder.
Earlier this month, three men were charged with allegedly helping Alkhalil escape.
