B.C. RCMP notes 16th anniversary of unsolved Vancouver murder

It’s been 16 years since the brutal murder of Wendy Ladner-Beaudry in Pacific Spirit Regional Park near UBC.
Fifty-three-year-old Ladner-Beaudry was out for a run on April 3, 2009, when she was viciously attacked by a person who’s never been identified.
Ladner-Beaudry was a married mother of two and sister of former city councillor and mayoral candidate Peter Ladner.
Police have never announced any breakthroughs in the case, suspect description, or motive.
Initially, the investigation was handled by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), but the file has been transferred to the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit.
The B.C. RCMP noted the anniversary of Ladner-Beaudry’s death Thursday, saying it’s pursued numerous tips, suspects, and persons of interest, and it hasn’t discounted that the incident could have been a random act of violence.
“She and her family deserve justice and investigators believe someone out there has information that could help achieve it,” Mounties said.
If you have any information about her murder, you’re asked to get in touch with the RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
