BC Place to host Whitecaps watch party Saturday 

The Whitecaps are going to San Diego this weekend, but Vancouver fans don’t have to travel far to watch the MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Final. 

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC will host a viewing party for Saturday’s game at BC Place, with proceeds going to the Whitecaps FC Foundation. 

Fans can watch the game live on the venue’s giant screen, and the club says the first 15,000 who enter the venue will be given free rally towels. 

San Diego FC finished first in the Western Conference in its inaugural season in the league. The Whitecaps lost to San Diego 5-3 at home in June, and tied the team 1-1 on the road last July. 

The winner of Saturday’s game will go on to the MLS Cup Final against the winner of the Inter Miami CF and New York City FC match on Dec. 6. 

The final will be hosted by the team that finished with more points during the regular season.  

If Inter Miami wins, Florida will host the final. If NYCFC advances, and the Whitecaps win Saturday, Vancouver has a chance to host the final for the first time.
