Body found in Chilliwack ditch: police

Police in Chilliwack say they’re working to identify a body that was found in a drainage ditch.

On Feb. 17 around 10:30 a.m., Chilliwack RCMP says it received a report from a passerby who spotted the body submerged in a ditch.

Police say the ditch was along Chilliwack Central Road, between Prest Road and Broadway.

While police have identified the deceased as male, his name and age are yet to be released.

Police add there’s no clear evidence of criminality and the deceased may have been unhoused.
