Brampton woman charged after 2 toddlers injured at home daycare

A 44-year-old woman is facing charges after two children were allegedly hurt at a home daycare in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police were notified after a two-year-old boy suffered a serious injury at the daycare on Sept. 20, 2023.

While they were investigating the alleged incident, police say they learned that a three-year-old girl was injured in March 2020.

“Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have charged a caregiver concerning two incidents at a home daycare in Brampton,” police said in a release.

On Jan. 16, 2024, police arrested Chereen Zeidan of Brampton in connection with the alleged incidents. She has been charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
