Canada Day crash victim dies
A 26-year-old man, critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Surrey last week, has died.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says that around 4 p.m. on July 1, officers attended the area of 120 Street and 97 Avenue after receiving reports of a crash.
Both the Surrey Fire Service and BC Emergency Health Services attended the scene.
Three people were taken to the hospital; one was transported with life-threatening injuries.
In an update Monday, SPS said “the person who sustained life-threatening injuries” had died.
Police confirmed to 1130 NewsRadio that the deceased was a 26-year-old man.
The other two suffered only minor injuries and were both released from the hospital on the day of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation, and the SPS is asking anyone with information or dashcam video to give them a call at 604-599-0502 and quote file 25-54337 (SP).
