The Canadian Border Service Agency (CBSA) says an American fugitive was arrested in Whistler four years to the day since taking part in the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Antony Vo was convicted of storming the Capitol in Washington, D.C. with other rioters, including his mother, on Jan. 6, 2021.

Vo, a 32-year-old from Bloomington, Ind., was sentenced to nine months in prison in June of 2024. A jury convicted Vo of four misdemeanor counts related to the riot.

In a statement to 1130 NewsRadio, the CBSA says Vo was arrested on Monday, Jan. 6 in Whistler “without incident.”

In December, Vo posted to social media, claiming he had applied for refugee status in Canada.

The agency says it has no record of Vo entering Canada from any official port.

In March, U.S. president elect, Donald Trump, announced that he would “Free the January 6 Hostages (sic) being wrongfully imprisoned,” as his first act if re-elected.

Trump has yet to confirm if he intends to pardon every convicted participant of the insurrection.
