Crews responding to townhouse fire in North Vancouver
10 residents had to evacuate their homes after a fire broke out at a townhouse complex in North Vancouver on Sunday.
The North Vancouver City Fire Department (NVCFD) says that crews responded to the fire near 15th Street West and Bewicke Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
“We had two townhouses on arrival that were showing smoke and flames,” said assistant fire chief David Biggin.
He adds that crews were able to contain the fire, yet the fire operations are still ongoing as of 10:45 a.m.
“I can say right now that all the occupants are out safely,” Biggin said.
He adds that five fire apparatus are on scene with approximately 25 firefighters dispatched.
There has been no word yet on the cause of the fire, as the investigation is still ongoing.
The Emergency Support Services (ESS) says that no injuries were reported.
