Crews search for missing passenger after vehicle driven off road into Squamish River

The RCMP says one person is missing after a single-vehicle collision that resulted in the vehicle being driven off road into the Squamish River.

Police say that on Saturday at 5 a.m., a crews were called out to the crash. There had been four people in the vehicle; three passengers were able to get to safety, with one passenger left unaccounted for.

The vehicle is also missing.

“RCMP, the fire department, along with Search and Rescue personnel, all attempted to locate both the vehicle and unaccounted for passenger,” the Squamish RCMP said in a news release just before 2 p.m. Sunday.

“However, as of June 15, have been unable to locate either.”

Search and rescue crews are continuing to look for the missing person and vehicle.
