cyclist injured after unexplained crash
Police are investigating after a cyclist was found injured after an unexplained crash on a road in Richmond last month.
On Jan. 23, the Richmond RCMP says a good Samaritan waved down an officer around 5:30 p.m. on No. 5 Road just north of Williams Road.
“The good Samaritan was assisting a cyclist laying injured on the roadway,” Mounties said in a release Monday.
Police say the officer provided medical care until paramedics arrived and transported the cyclist to hospital.
Later, Mounties obtained a statement from the victim who says the last thing he remembers was cycling northbound after work and trying to pass an unoccupied parked car on No. 5 Road.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the cyclist to crash and asking witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to contact the Richmond RCMP at at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2025-2634.
