Downtown Eastside shooting sends 1 to hospital

Police in Vancouver say a person has been taken to hospital after being shot in the city’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood Thursday.

The Vancouver Police Department took to social media just before 11 a.m. saying officers are on scene at East Hastings and Main Street.

“The victim has been taken to hospital. Based on the initial investigation, incident appears targeted,” the VPD shared.

Police add no arrests have been made.

“Additional officers are in the area investigating. More information expected to be shared later today.”
