Driver dead, passenger in serious collision after North Vancouver crash

The North Vancouver RCMP says it is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision Friday evening that left one person dead and sent another to hospital in serious condition.

Officers were called to the area of Berkley Avenue and Sechelt Drive around 10:30 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a white BMW 535 had crashed into a tree.

“Despite lifesaving efforts, the driver, a 19-year-old man from North Vancouver, succumbed to his injuries,” Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said.

“The passenger of the white BMW was rushed to hospital in serious condition and is expected to survive.”

He says police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
