E-bike and e-scooter parking now available at Coquitlam Central Station

The City of Coquitlam is moving forward with expanding its micromobility strategy by making e-bike and e-scooter parking available at Coquitlam Central Station.
In 2023, the city began its e-scooter pilot project alongside 25 other communities across the province. E-scooters first appeared on the street in June of that year.
Now riders will be able to use these forms of transportation and connect to both the SkyTrain and West Coast Express.
“This new mobility hub will make it more convenient for customers to seamlessly connect to transit services,” TransLink said in a media release.
Dedicated parking zones are located outside the fare gates. Locations are clearly marked with designs similar to those in other e-scooter parking locations.
TransLink is reminding riders that trips are required to end in these areas.
“Shared e-bikes and e-scooters must be docked inside the mobility hub, and are not permitted inside the Fare Paid Zone, or on board the SkyTrain or West Coast Express,” the release states.
The move is part of the city’s strategy to make micromobility and other alternative forms of transportation safer and more easily accessible.
The mobility hub will be in place until December 2025. Following the pilot, data will be collected to inform future decisions and evaluate the feasibility of implementing similar approaches at other transit hubs in Metro Vancouver.
