Elderly woman dead following a collision in Vaughan, police say

York Regional Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that killed an elderly woman Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Dufferin Street in Vaughan at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Police say a woman in her 80s who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was sent to a hospital without vital signs. No other details were provided.

Footage from the scene shows two vehicles sprawled across the intersection with serious damage.

An investigation is ongoing.
