elderly woman found dead at scene of crash

A woman is dead, and a road in Surrey’s Fleetwood neighbourhood is closed Tuesday afternoon as police investigate a crash involving two vehicles.

A Surrey RCMP support unit says it was called to the scene on 92 Avenue near 156 Street around 10:30 a.m.

“Surrey Fire Service firefighters and BCEHS paramedics attended the scene and despite life-saving medical interventions, a 93-year-old woman, the driver of one of the vehicles, died,” police explained.

Police say the cause of the collision is under investigation.

Drivers can take 90 or 93 avenues to avoid the intersection.
