Homeowners struggling with burst pipes

With the winter weather hitting much of Metro Vancouver, many homeowners are struggling with a common problem: bursting water pipes

Keyosha Waugh, operations manager at Incredible Restorations, claims that a lot of homes in the area don’t have pipes that can handle extreme weather.

“The way that homes were constructed prior to climate change and things like that, they were less insulated,” Waugh said. “And now we are hopefully moving in a direction where we are making sure homes can withstand the weather changes.”

Waugh says making sure your home is adequately heated and has proper insulation around it’s pipes can help, and you should call a plumber if you have any concerns.

Waugh says they’ve been extremely busy, responding to about 100 calls since Saturday, with many more expected in the coming days. The company is at capacity, but says it’s trying to get out to as many homes as possible.
