The RCMP is investigating after a person died following a shooting in Langley Sept. 5, 2025.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim in a fatal Langley shooting on Sept. 5 as 24-year-old Taran Pandher.

The Langley RCMP says it was called to the area of 200th Street and 53rd Avenue just before 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Pandher and initiated lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene.

Officers say the shooting happened while the victim was inside a taxi.

Police believe the incident was targeted and related to the B.C. Gang Conflict.

“Mr. Pandner was known to police and believed to be connected to organized crime,” Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi said.

“Due to the gang nexus of the homicide, [IHIT’s Integrated Gang Homicide Team] has taken conduct of the investigation.”

Police say they also received reports of a vehicle fire in the area of 132nd Street and 64A Avenue in Surrey at 11 p.m.

“Investigators believe this to be connected to the homicide,” Dhesi said.

No other injuries have been reported, IHIT says.

Anyone with dash cam or CCTV video of either of the areas between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email [email protected].
