SEVENTEEN new cases of covid19 were reported on Wednesday the Health Ministry said in its daily update.
The 17 are now among the 564 active cases in Trinidad and Tobago. Yesterday’s figure was 573.
The 4 pm update also said five people were discharged from state facilities and 21 community cases recovered.
The 17 new cases were recorded between Sunday and Tuesday.
At present there are 27 patients in hospital with only one in the ICU.
Since March, TT has recorded 6,917 cases of covid19. There have been 123 deaths so far and 6,230 people have recoveed from the virus.
The Health Ministry said of the 497 people in what is classified as home self-isolation, 177 are in prison. There are 23 people in step-down facilities and 259 in state-supervised facilities.
