Teen found, 3 other people missing


THE police reported on the weekend that three people have gone missing while a teen who was previously reported missing, had been found and is now safe. 

San Juan resident Shania Applewhite, 16, of Bagatelle Road, who was reported missing on Friday December 11, has been found. She visited the Penal Police Station on Saturday and stated that she was in good health. Officers of the Child Protection Unit are continuing enquiries and the Children’s Authority has been contacted.

A police press release stated that this was the second time Shania had been reported missing after disappearing in September only to be subsequently found.

The release then stated that Saleem Thompson, 16, of Caratal Road, Gasparillo home; Javon James, 23, of Mausica Road, Arima and Yaseen Almarales, 22, of Sherwood Park, Arima have all been reported missing in separate incidents.

Saleem was last seen at 8.30 am on Sunday December 13, James was last seen at 6.15 pm on Saturday December 19 and Almarales was last seen at 3 pm on Saturday December 19.

Saleem is of mixed descent, 5 feet 3 inches tall, with a brown complexion and a slim build with a short corn row hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a blue and yellow armless t-shirt, a pair of blue short pants and a pair of black and white slippers.

James is of African descent, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a dark complexion and slim build with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a pink jersey and a pair of dark coloured pants.

Almarales is of African descent, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a dark brown complexion and slim build with a corn row hairstyle. He also has a tattoo of a crescent moon and star on his upper left arm. Yaseen was last seen wearing a grey jersey and a pair of grey short pants.
