EIGHT new cases of covid19 infections have been reported on Christmas Eve, the Ministry of Health’s daily update said on Christmas Day.
The ministry’s 4 pm update also showed no new deaths from the virus. From March 12 to Christmas Day, there have been 7,097 infections with 125 deaths and 6,527 people recovering from the virus.
The release said there are 445 active cases, with 22 people warded, 46 at step-down facilities, 366 at state-quarantine facilities and 369 patients in home self-isolation. Of the eight new positive cases, three are recently repatriated citizens. Of the 369 people in home self-isolation, 37 are in the care of the prison system.
The total number of people tested in the country is 70,626, with 30,951 being done at private facilities.
