Inter Miami confirms Messi is part of Thursday’s CONCACAF lineup
Global soccer icon Lionel Messi will play in Thursday night’s CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-final between the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Inter Miami FC at BC Place.
This was confirmed in a post by Inter Miami on social media Thursday evening, which shows he is part of the lineup.
Messi landed in Vancouver on Wednesday, but it remained unclear as to whether or not he would actually play.
More than 54,000 fans bought tickets to the match, with seats sold out and resale prices climbing into the hundreds of dollars.
It’s a rematch of sorts, as Messi was expected to play in Vancouver last year but didn’t show up, leaving some fans disappointed.
