Kelowna RCMP arrest 6 girls after weapons brought to restaurant

The Kelowna RCMP says it took six girls into custody Friday after receiving reports that the group had a firearm at a restaurant.
Mounties say they responded to a restaurant on Bernard Avenue near the waterfront around 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 28.
“Several officers in both plain clothes and uniform attended immediately, and took six youth females safely into custody,” the RCMP said in a release Monday.
Officers reportedly seized a replica handgun, a prohibited weapon, pepper spray and alcohol.
Mounties confirmed the weapons were never used at scene.
All six were released to their respective guardians and parents.
Police say they will be recommending criminal charges for more than one of the young women.
